Immoral Reality
You look at me.
I look at you.
Words unsaid.
Thoughts undo.
Normality judged.
You sit there and cringe.
Or acknowledge the pleasure
Your eyes unhinged.
Perspective differs.
Media trends.
Ignoble acts.
Fair-weather friends.
Flourished acceptance
Of what’s so chic.
Lowered standards.
You look incredibly meek.
Adapt yourself.
Rebel against the ‘norm.’
Society stays stagnant
When everyone conforms.
Shatter the pieces.
Throw them amidst.
Defy social standards.
Shred the list.
You are you.
As I am I.
Embrace individuality.
Create your alibi.
So when you look at me,
And I look back at you.
Understand difference of experience.
Expose your light, shine it through.

Morning Glory
You bound open those prepossessing eyes
Though you don’t know what to do
Your heads giving quite the pounding
Your hair is tossed a strewn
Your memory is a little hazy
Your lips, a little dry
You peek at your surroundings
And then you realize why
Your clothes found new locations in heaps near and far
Questioning why you lay in mystery, alone
You can’t help but smirk
Cause you are, in fact, a little mind blown
Your plan of action flurries in
As your mind can’t help but spin
You have to abort this mission
Survival mode kicks in
Drape your body with the heaps
Grab a souvenir of the unknown
Slyly slither out of the front door
Before the mid morning moan
Ready.. Set.. Road block
You heard a little squeak
Silently praying
The floorboards exhale a little creak
Mystery is closing in
Hoping it’s up to par
One more breath and a quick confirmation
You have made it this far
Notions of insanity
Your ship is set to sail
Fate nimbly comes in clutch
Last night’s rendezvous might not have been such a fail.

Helpless Healer
Tears in the eyes
Heart on the sleeve
Played like a fool
Can’t help but grieve
Hidden in the shadows
Drawn out to play
Mistakes illuminated vivaciously
Resentful of that day
Wall sky high
Questions of oblivion
The world takes its course
Perpetuated by endless decisions
Unforgettable moments
Couldn’t have it all
Rage fades deep
Accustomed to the fall.

Friendly Fire
Fated attraction
Eyes glimmer bright
As your heart replenishes satisfaction
Days build
Not a word goes unsaid
You question how you were once fulfilled
But as the world gleamed
Tragedy struck
And repetitively you are reamed
That pedestal disintegrates
Tears turn cold
As does that gold path you paved
Trust in only yourself
Serpents befriend
Vindictively for their own wealth
No matter what happens, always stay true
Life encourages experience
Friends can break your heart too.

Passion
Burning within
Deep in the gut
Arousal depth
Fueling afar
Stimulation increase
Laden heart
Drowning despair
Keeps the focus clear
Outcome comprehension
Healing doubt
Synonymously obstructing
Remorseless fiery
Strategic creations
As the same fire that fuels you
Burns you out.

Anticipation
Quite the mess we turned out to be
You can’t even think
And I thought it was just me
Sat there in silence as you poured it all out
Sadness took over
As your head filled with doubt
Watching you closely as you turned down your eyes
Fumbling around all your words
But it was no surprise
You know all the answers, Or so that you think
But what underlies
What can’t you speak?
You portray such a slight.. To keep them at peace
But who’s helping who
Suffering at its peak
You see such failure that cannot be sought
There’s so much hidden
For this battle that doesn’t have to be fought
Open your eyes and then you may see
The light you reflect
Captured, not just by me
A lovely little mess, yet a masterpiece who just tries to flee
Fathom such reality
Hurry back to me.

Shadows
There's something about serenity that gives you peace in the night when all the shadows come to life.
What happens if those shadows turn to demons who reap in the light?
What happens when the soulless can't resist a fright?
There's something about fear that paralyzes our bones, unable to move even in the place we call home.
What happens when the fear is rationally convinced?
What happens when conviction puts the trigger to the test?
There's something about hope that keeps your soul alive, even when it's at rest it still pushes to thrive.
What happens when the darkness consumes the last spark of light?
What happens when the spark puts the demon to rest?
The drip of the darkness spread on the floor, and shadows lurk beneath the depths once more.
There's something about peace in the dead of the night when all the shadows come to life.

The Redwoods
Beneath the trees is where I'll be.
Hide and seek, we once were free.
Redwood secrets held at the peak.
Climb on up to where your heart seeks.

Companionship
Bring to light the dawn of the night.
Sit in the space where the shadows prey.
Lurking through the trees, two can be free.

Vulnerability
Stand near the water,
Feel the breeze.
Take a walk under pine needles,
Listen to the trees.
Crawl through the thicket.
Feel the gravel beneath.
Lay still in silence,
Wash over me.

Frosty
Frosty couldn't wait for the winter months to arrive.
He dreamed of the outings where his friends and him thrived.
A flurry of snowflakes and temperatures fall,
And up comes a bundle of joy, plump and tall.
He rolled to his friends' house, as Santa was coming.
But his friends refused the outings, as their credibility was tumbling.
What did Frosty miss, as he never goes withholding.
His friends closed the curtains because of the year of countless scolding.
Frosty rolled on towards his very last hope.
As his friends no longer cared for his joy, they chose to mope.
Frosty fought against the cold front ahead,
Soon Spring would arrive and in his puddle he bled.
He was persistent in filling the void of rejection.
He didn't understand why is coping overwhelmingly misled him.
He believed when he melted his friends would miss him.
However, his rebirth placed him in a cold front of grim.
As the only six feet he kept was his height,
The only cover he took was in the dead of the night.
He dreamt of a time when his friends were unsheltered.
Their vision was only a bond kept unwelted.
Although Frosty knew the time may have come,
He rolled right on back to where he came from.
As he found shelter lit in the night,
He had never seen a home that shined so bright.
The people were dancing and singing quite loud,
Smiles on their faces, as frowning was not allowed.
They caught sight of Frosty watching from afar.
They shouted out loud, "Frosty, now there you are!"
They continued to greet him as they thought he was lost,
They knew right away he was rather exhausted.
They threw him a peppermint, and told him to join them.
A home only welcomes and never condemns.
The love that flows freely had Frosty in disbelief.
As he realized what he needed was there at his cold snowy feet.
He knew that his course had been fulfilled, yet expired with his friends.
Although, he now knew when Spring comes, he won't fear the end.
Christmas would come again and like a sign from above,
The old house would burn brightly and consume him with love.

Defiance
Tattered soul
Midst of the wind
Walk with me
Or walk on.

Envision
Life without risk is no life at all
Slight hazardous perception will strive you through
Without that fire, you’ll be sure to fall
Tenacity from the savage ends victoriously.

Drought
Peace whispers in the silence.
WInd dances in the stillness.
Where the river was left dry
The trees are thirsty.

Courage
With fear of the unknown,
Only nature will see.
You either stand alone,
Or you take a seat.

Unfiltered
Darkness in the creek,
Your troubles flow through you.
Treading to breathe,
Your hope will forsake you.
What's left without hope,
You will not survive.
Hold your breath,
Humanity will be revived.

Paradise
Keep the water warm.
Kee the tequila chilled.
Keep the toes full of sand.
Keep the undertow a thrill.
Keep the days long.
Keep the nights hot.
Keep the fire burning high.
Keep the dancing at a never ending stop.
Keep the tongues rolling.
Keep the words slipping.
Keep the culture alive.
Keep the heart from tipping.
